GOD...Pliss Jodohin Gue Dong!! by Soffi S. Bawahab

Reading Challenge 2011

I just joined Goodreads today. Yeah.. I know its probably to late, but its better late than never right?? After have my profile done, I decided to join its Reading Challenge 2011. Since Goodreads allowed me to have my own target on how many books I should read for the whole year, so I choose to read 24 books this year.

24 book a year. That means I only read 2 book in a month. Yeah.. I know.. so small amount for a gal who considered her self as BOOKWORM. What can I say. I'm planning a lot of thing this year. I mean.. I wanna crocheting, I wanna knitting, I wanna do some embroidery. I want this I want that. Plus.. I'm a working gal and still have to do some household every day. So so far, I think 24 is a reasonable number. Who knows.. maybe I can read more than that in reality ;)

No One's Perfect by Hirotada Ototake

What will a parent do if they have a child with disability? Should they feel ashamed? Hide their kid from people and real world? Or even worst, just put that poor kid into orphanage or boarding school. Sounds cruel right? But that's reality. And we all know how suck reality is (sometimes). And how about that baby itself? What will they do when they have no hands and legs? Will they feel ashamed of their self? Will they lock their self up from the world??

Meet Hirotada Ototake. Born with no arms nor legs. His parent (thanks GOD) never hide him from real world. They even put him into public school with 'normal' kids.

Here, you read about his journey from the day he was born until his life at Waseda University. How he mingled with his normal friends. How he try to live his life and be as normal as he can. Life never been easy, not even for normal people that's for sure. But every thing can be much easier when you focus on it and open yourself for every support you can get.

(Bought this book on Dec 29, 2001)

Untuk Indonesia yang Kuat by Ligwina Hananto

I know this book when I blog walking to Dela's Blog. How she describes this book really fascinates me. So last month I finally bought it as B'day gift for myself. And it turned out that IT IS a really good book.
It's about middle class people like us. Yes. Us. Like most of us who lived proper, able to shop and hang out with family and friends and even take a vacation at least once a year. Look nice isn't it?? Are you sure?? Well.. don't be so sure coz here, we'll finally realize that we don't have any proper plan nor action in order to have proper pension. For short, we don't have anything in plan to live our life as fun as we had now.

Prepare yourself to get slapped in face. Kinda scary na? But wait. This book not only talk about your (our) mistake in handling money, but also provides you with steps you should take in order to fix you financial plan. Never to late to have a better live. Honestly!! It's really an eye opening book.
